About the Academy Director
 Mary Schiavetta is PGA Head Professional and Academy Director of SchiavettaGolf Academy at Evie’s Golf Center in Sarasota, Florida.An elected Class A PGA member since 1996, Mary’s mission is to teach and coach in such a manner as to enable the student to reach his or her full potential. She was born and raised in Bethpage on Long Island, New York. After 4 years at Syracuse University on a basketball scholarship, Mary started her career in golf. Her amateur career involved competing in the US Woman’s Public Links and the Woman’s Mid-Amateur Championships.
Mary has taught at prestigious clubs such as The Creek Club in Locust Valley, Long Island, Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York, and The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. Mary has also conducted numerous corporate golf clinics for clients such as JP Morgan Chase, Mastercard, Boar’s Head, and the Women’s Sports Foundation. She has also has been featured in PGA Magazine. Mary is past President of the Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association (of which she is currently Vice President). She has been involved in junior golf through the Greater Sasarsota Junior Golf Association (GSJGA) for the past 8 years. The PGA Southwest Chapter awarded her the Junior Golf Leader Award in 2004 & 2006, and the PGA North Florida Chapter has awarded her the Junior Golf Leader Award in 2007. My dog Allie (pictured at right) sometimes stops by the Academy and hangs out with me. Please stop by and say hello to her. She loves to play frisbee and she LOVES to be petted! |
